In the first half of this year, NHI 's new orders increased by more than 30% year-on-year. Entering the third quarter, multiple key products developed by the company, including the Double Shield Hard Rock TBM, have passed factory acceptance, and significant progress has been made in multiple key projects participated in, providing strong support for the high-quality development of the enterprise and helping to win the battle of the tough year.

Set off a competition craze and hone the staff team

In order to enhance employee skills, promote job training, and cultivate a high skilled and high-quality workforce, since June, Northern Heavy Industries has launched multiple business competitions such as the 2024 "Revitalization New Breakthrough I Want to Be a Pioneer" employee skills competition, safety officer skills competition, electrician skills competition, and cold worker skills competition.

The latest cold worker competition attracted more than 70 frontline technical employees from the entire company to participate. After theoretical assessment, 30 people finally entered the practical stage. After multiple rounds of intense competition, Wang Yang, an employee of Workshop 1, Sun Guoliang, an employee of Workshop 3, and Hu Weijia, an employee of Workshop 5, won first, second, and third prizes respectively in the Structural Parts Factory.

In recent years, NHI has actively carried out labor competitions and employee skill competitions that are close to the production line, mobilizing the enthusiasm and initiative of the majority of employees, and jointly building a learning oriented enterprise. Through the combination of theory and practice, relying on actual production tasks in the production process, the skill level is tested in the work, and the business ability is assessed by product quality, forming an attractive and vibrant innovative activity model. On this basis, special attention is paid to overcoming technical difficulties, breaking through production capacity bottlenecks, summarizing work highlights through competition activities, and promoting production through competition.

According to statistics, from March to June this year, the mechanical processing and welding efficiency of NHI' products have significantly improved. Among them, the cutting efficiency has increased by more than 40% month on month, and the welding efficiency has increased by more than 30% month on month, effectively promoting the progress of product production and delivery.

Accelerate product research and development, promote increased production and efficiency

While improving production efficiency, NHI is firmly committed to the deep integration of scientific and technological innovation and industrial innovation, accelerating the research and development process of key products, relying on technological and brand advantages, constantly opening up new fields, competing for new tracks, and promoting increased production and efficiency.

On July 9th, the Double Shield Hard Rock TBM developed by NHI for a key ecological project in China successfully passed the factory acceptance. It is reported that this equipment has a total length of nearly 300 meters, weighs over 1000 tons, and has an excavation diameter of 4.87 meters. The project it serves is located in the western region of China, with a total tunnel length of approximately 15 kilometers.

Based on the geological conditions of the project location, potential construction issues are predicted, and NHI innovatively develops and carries out targeted design. In response to the demand for long-distance and rapid excavation, a high torque and high-power cutterhead drive system, a long-life heavy-duty cutterhead system for efficient excavation, and a continuous belt conveyor system for rapid slag removal have been configured; Set up normalized advanced drilling machines and shield anti twist devices in the host area to ensure that the equipment has the ability to quickly handle adverse geological conditions and efficiently excavate during excavation.

To ensure the smooth delivery of the equipment as scheduled, NHIs deployed elite forces to work in three shifts, completing the assembly and debugging of the entire machine in just 68 days, which was more than 20 days shorter than expected. During this period, Northern Heavy Industries overcame difficulties such as manpower shortage and continuously completed the dismantling, transfer, underground assembly, and propulsion tasks of two Shield Tunneling Machines, while ensuring that the other equipment returned to the factory for maintenance was delivered on time.

On July 19th, the landing gear project of Shenyang Beixiang Aviation Technology Co., Ltd. held a groundbreaking ceremony in the NHI factory area. It is reported that the company was jointly established by NHI and HNA Aviation Technology Co., Ltd. It will gradually form the design and manufacturing capabilities of aviation specific maintenance tools and important process equipment around the aviation maintenance industry, and create an aviation industry base integrating aviation maintenance, aviation parts and tooling equipment design, research and development, and manufacturing, contributing to the high-quality development of Shenyang's aviation industry.
